TOPICS

Business Acctivities
  • Nuclear Power Business

We have a long history in the Nuclear Power Business. In 1970, we began construction on the Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant No. 1 for The Japan Atomic Power Company, which contributed to nuclear power generation in Japan. In addition to this extensive experience, we also take advantage of our propriety technology, methods, and products to achieve businesses with a higher level of safety and efficiency considerations. We handle a wide range of nuclear power plant operations from installation plans and building construction (planning, fabrication, and installation) of the primary equipment in nuclear power plants, such as reactors, turbines and generators to nuclear power fusion research and nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities. We also provide preventative maintenance (modification, renewal, and repair work)

  • Substation Business

Substations are indispensable to supplying high-voltage power generated by power plants for consumers to use. These facilities are not only necessary to power infrastructure but also require a high level of reliability and safety. Our Substation Business mainly installs substation equipment, handles the civil and construction work, and designs, constructs and delivers steel towers and other auxiliary equipment.
Through this wide range of work, We contribute to the construction of facilities that can supply safer, more reliable power by considering the most efficient construction methods capitalizing on extensive experience and specialized knowledge while using its unique strengths in operational support systems taking advantage of IT.
Our Substation Business has earned high praise from its customers and has expanded its business domains not only in Japan but also overseas.

  • Transportation Business

Railroad businesses are expected to help address climate change as a highly energy-efficient means of passenger and cargo transport with a low environmental burden. Countries worldwide are advancing their railway infrastructure as well to alleviate road congestion. We engage in businesses that contribute to the growth of railroads in a sustainable society through the delivery of rolling stock maintenance systems as well as installation and construction of electrical equipment as power supplies essential to railroad administration.
We have an extensive track record overseas, especially through our involvement in overseas projects. We are one of a few companies launched in Japan that can provide total solutions for rolling stock maintenance in overseas projects.

  • Renewable Energy Business

The modern world is hastening initiatives to achieve a decarbonized society worldwide with greater emphasis on renewable energy free from greenhouse gas emissions. Solar PV, wind, and hydro power generation as well as other renewable energies provide a low-carbon energy source for production in Japan. The nation is continuing to spearhead initiatives toward a stable supply of these types of energies.
We have consistently expanded the construction of power plants as its core business. We leverage the track record, knowledge, and expertise that we have cultivated in the energy business over so many years in the renewable energy domain. Our advanced installation technologies support a wide range of customers through our wealth of experience as well as research and development for equipment installations. Even in the renewable energy field which contributes greatly to society, we provide installation work suitable to customer requirements.

Distinctive Technology
  • Equipment Development - Laying the Foundation for the Decommissioning Business

When cutting with a band saw, the following problems can occur: (1) the blade getting caught in the object being cut, (2) extreme bending, and (3) significant blade damage. We have obtained prospects for realizing automatic operation logic that detects and avoids the above problems, including the blade getting caught in the object being cut, extreme bending, and significant blade damage. As a result, we expect to be able to reduce the number of personnel required for monitoring by 75%.

  • Equipment Development - Development of Air Conditioning Systems Using Seismic Isolation Equipment

Electric power companies are working to reduce costs in response to nuclear power regulations. In response, we have developed a new three-dimensional equipment seismic isolation system with a seismic isolation structure that meets seismic resistance requirements, which integrates a vertical seismic isolation mechanism that uses constant load springs and movable pulleys for load support, coil springs for restoring functions, and a horizontal seismic isolation mechanism that uses cross-linear bearings, etc.

  • ICT Construction(R) - Designing Technology for New Regulations

To address issues such as the lack of analyst resources, the creation and review of a huge amount of inspection evidence, and the maintenance of the quality of work permit analysis, we have developed systems that use AI to automatically extract similar models from previous models, systems that automatically re-analyze load replacement, and systems that visualize the results of analysis model 3D shape display analysis by color.

  • Productivity Improvement (Supporting Technology) - Digital Design Platform

We have developed a simulator that checks the feasibility of lifting and carrying operations, a function that creates lifting and carrying animations while checking a full-scale 3D model superimposed on the site using a mixed reality (MR) device, and a function that measures the distance between the 3D model and any obstructions in the field and automatically displays the distance to the obstructions on the system's screen.

  • Productivity Enhancement (Support Technology) - Gyroscopic Rotation Control Device for Suspended Loads

When transporting and installing equipment in high-radiation areas at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, it is difficult for workers to carry the ropes attached to suspended loads and to control the direction of the suspended loads while transporting them. Therefore, we developed a device that can remotely control the rotation of suspended loads, which we named "Hachidori" (hummingbird) because of its ability to stop the rotation (movement) of suspended loads, and we are using it at the site.

  • Developing Technology to Support Safety Management - Improving on-site safety management through the use of digital technology

The number of accidents on construction sites is increasing due to factors such as a decline in the number of workers and skilled engineers, so there is a need to promote collaborative safety measures that use ICT to share information about people, materials and the environment. This technology uses image information from fixed-point cameras and AI analysis technology to (1) recognize people and materials, (2) determine the relative position of the two and assess the risk, and (3) issue an alarm to draw attention to the situation.

  • Developing a Technology Transfer System Using Digital Technology - Building a Technology Base for Leveraging Skilled Workers' Knowledge

In the construction industry, the number of older workers is increasing and the number of younger workers is decreasing, and it is predicted that a large number of skilled workers will retire in the future. In this situation, skilled workers and laborers often move from site to site, and since the transfer of know-how is not efficient, we have built a foundation for the transfer of skilled workers' know-how using digital technology.
