The Corporate IT Digital Division provides IT solutions to more than 280,000 users worldwide to support the growth of the entire Hitachi Group. To realize social innovation on a global scale for the Hitachi Group, our mission is to (1) identify management, business, and operational issues and needs facing Hitachi and use technology and data to create solutions and value, and (2) promote the advancement of IT and DX and provide a common platform for overall optimization. To achieve this, we are working to promote the use of IT and digital technology while collaborating with each other, with one division focusing on account management to provide IT solutions while understanding each issue individually, and another division focusing on the development and operation of IT solutions and services.

The Corporate IT Digital Division coordinates IT for the entire Hitachi Group while working in collaboration with the IT divisions of each business unit and Group company, and is developing common measures to contribute to business growth through IT digital technology, reduce IT costs, and respond to security risks.
In addition, IT general managers have been appointed in Europe, the United States, China, India, and Singapore to promote the implementation of common global IT measures.

Here, we propose and provide implementation support for a variety of solutions from the Corporate IT Digital Division, tailored to the characteristics and issues of each business unit and group company within Hitachi, Ltd.
We are the front line of the Corporate IT Digital Division, and we are called "Account SE" because we work in the position closest to the users.
By closely monitoring and actively utilizing the latest IT technologies, we will contribute to corporate innovation and global business expansion while improving the agility, efficiency, and robustness of the IT infrastructure. The 2024 Hitachi Group IT Mid-term Plan focuses on five business areas and promotes consideration of their application within the Hitachi Group. We are also considering the application of notable new IT technologies, such as generative AI, to business operations, taking into account the risks involved.
We are providing IT services that support the Hitachi Group's achievement of carbon neutrality by promoting the aggregation and visualization of environmental data and the introduction of low CO2 emission devices and services. We are also promoting the shift to cloud computing and visualizing the reduction of power consumption across Hitachi.
To promote global collaboration and enhance employee engagement, we aim to improve the quality of life through next-generation work-style and operational reforms. In fiscal 2024, we are working to automate the handling of requests using generative AI and to facilitate the onboarding of new employees by creating shared IT service packages.
We will empower each and every employee through the democratization of DX by creating a basic environment that promotes the improvement of digital literacy among general employees and through human resource development. We will promote the development of infrastructure and tools for employees to promote DX and human resource development.
We will promote the rapid application of cutting-edge technologies such as hybrid clouds and edge computing based on the principles of "cloud first" and "asset light". We will promote the provision of IT environments and services that enable the secure use of cloud resources in production, manufacturing, and research and development environments.
We will provide a security platform that supports the safe and secure distribution of data through automated responses to cyber attacks based on zero trust and the automation of security operations.
While the use of generative AI has the potential to dramatically change business operations, it also carries the risk of information leakage and other security breaches. For this reason, Hitachi is working to ensure that everyone understands the specifications of generative AI and uses it only after going through the application and approval procedures under internal regulations. In addition, we will contribute to improving the quality and productivity of internal operations through the use of generative AI by participating in CoE activities that bring together generative AI experts and business divisions to promote the use of generative AI.
