Participating in the EXPO School Caravan - Expanding the Circle of Solutions to Social Issues to Children

三重県津田学園中学校・高等学校

As part of the Expo 2025, the Expo School Caravan, under the leadership of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for Promoting International Expositions, Cabinet Secretariat, is conducting the Expo School Caravan, in which employees from Expo exhibitors provide on-site lectures to over 200 elementary, middle, high, and special branch schools nationwide. The Expo School Caravan is an initiative to foster the mindset of children regarding the realization of Society 5.0, the theme of the Expo, and the resolution of social issues. Hitachi, together with KDDI, which is jointly exhibiting the exhibit, has begun visiting a total of eight schools.

The first half of the class consisted of two parts, with the first half introducing Hitachi and KDDI's efforts to solve social issues such as sustainability and wellbeing, and the second half featuring group work led by the students, where they experienced design thinking by drawing a vision of the future from social issues and incorporating it into individual actions. The children freely and openly expressed their ideas, including their desire to accept and solve social and regional issues, as well as ideas that can contribute to solving regional issues.

At Hitachi KDDI Place, the “Future City” pavilion at the Expo 2025, visitors can experience how the city of the future will change through a simulation by choosing their own solutions to future issues. Let's think together about social issues and our vision of the future at the venue. We look forward to seeing you at the Expo 2025.
